Founded in Berlin in 1999, Spieß & Schumacher has been passionately dedicated to
providing sustainable legal services for the benefit of our worldwide clients
ever since. Our firm has seven partners as well as a network of cooperation partners across Germany, Europe, the USA and Africa.
The focus of our legal services is on private law, in particular intellectual property law, trademark, copyright, media and entertainment law as well as corporate, commercial and trade law, including competition, labor and insolvency law.
We advise our clients on the founding and growth of efficient and goal-oriented company and distribution structures (both horizontal and vertical), taking in the realms of corporate identity, marketing and distribution, management and protection of intellectual and industrial property rights as well as the legal enforcement of claims against third parties (e.g. trademark claims, copyright claims, personal rights), defense against such claims, business and corporate management, financing and financial restructuring, debt relief, due diligence, M & A and insolvency.
We see ourselves as having both an advisory and structuring role, with a focus on both the extra-judicial and judicial enforcement of our client´s claims and interests. We aim for our client partnerships to be long-lasting and sustainable and believe that our relationship with them should grow alongside the expansion of our clients' interests.
In the process, we can naturally advise our clients at their places of business. We always focus on our clients' commercial, corporate and strategic goals. In selected cases we assume - as an interim solution - aspects of a company's management.
We counsel and represent both individuals and innovative enterprises, ranging from single artists to medium-sized companies with worldwide operations. Our clients are active in the creative and inventive fields. They may be industry or trade entities, service companies, or those involved in development, marketing, communication and distribution.
We represent - both nationally and internationally - authors, producers, publishers, composers and writers, artists and interpreters, directors and actors, fashion designers and models, journalists and media businesses, advertising and communications entities, software developers, film producers, material and non-material distributors, musicians, bands and record labels, Web 2.0 companies, inventors, DJs and organizers.
Furthermore we have forged long-lasting partnerships with medium-sized companies whose diverse spectrum of interests include renewable and clean technologies, software solutions, medical and health care, hardware and modern industrial products, production and licensing of music, games and mobile content.
